Summus Capital supports young Baltic tennis talents

Summus Capital is cooperating with Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian Tennis Associations and providing financial support for the purpose of development of young Baltic tennis talents and for their participation in tournaments and camps. We would like to share the 2023 achievements of all the 6 athletes being supported:

GEORG STRASCH- ESTONIA

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
– Representing Estonia at the European Championships in Switzerland
– Silver medal in singles and gold medal in doubles at the Youth Estonian Championship
– Bronze medal in doubles at the Estonian Adult Championship
– Estonian GP victory in singles
– 10 ITF finals in doubles, of which 2 wins
– 1 ITF singles final, 2 semi-finals, 4 quarter-finals
– 650th place in the ITF ranking at the beginning of 2023, 379th in September

TOURNAMENTS:
– 17 international tournaments
– 4 Estonian tournaments

CAMPS & TRAINING:
Mainly trains in Estonia. During the summer, he trained for three weeks at the Van Hulst academy in the Netherlands.
The coaches are Ekke Tiidemann, Vladimir Ivanov and Ilo Rihvk.

GRETE GULL – ESTONIA

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
– Silver in mixed doubles at the Estonian Adult Championship and in doubles
gold medal.
– 1st place in the adult Estonian Cup in singles and doubles

– 14 international ITF tournaments
– 4 Estonian tournaments

CAMPS & TRAINING:
At the beginning of the year, a one-month training camp in Alicante, Spain. Training RC Tennis Pro
in the club. After the camp, two ITF junior tournaments in Mallorca:
– J60 Manacor – singles quarter-final
– J100 Manacor – quarter-finals in singles and semi-finals in doubles

BEATRISE ZELTINA – LATVIA

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
– Latvian national team representative in Billie Jean King Cup (April 2023)
– Latvian national championship finalist (July 2023)
– 3rd place in Latvian national championship in doubles (July 2023)
– ITF U18 top ranked Latvian player (262 – October 30th, 2023 rankings)
– J100 Liepaja title in ITF U18 junior tour
– 12 ITF U18 junior tour tournaments in 2023
– 3 ITF professional tour tournaments in 2023
– Representing Latvian national U16 team in Summer Cups

DARJA SEMENISTAJA – LATVIA

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
– Reached career high ranking of 129 on October 16, 2023
– 4 ITF professional tour titles in 2023 – W60 Olumouc, W60 Liepaja, W60 Prague, W40 Mexico City
– US open Q2 round, Wimbledon Q3 round, French Open Q1 round

– 24 ITF professional tour tournaments in 2023
– 3 Grand Slam participation
– 8 WTA tour tournaments in 2023

CAMPS & TRAINING:
Training and camps: the main training spot is Enri tennis club in Riga.
– A few training camps took place in Croatia to adjust tennis and fitness preparation for upcoming tournaments’ blocks.

 

KLAUDIJA BUBELYTE – LITHUANIA

ACHIEVEMENTS:
– One W15 Semifinal in singles;
– Three W15 finals in singles;
– W15 Winner in doubles;
– Representing Lithuania in BILIE JEAN KING CUP;
– W60 3rd round in singles;
– 1st place in singles and 1st place in doubles at the Lithuanian Adults championships;
– Current WTA ranking 738;
